Making our Community Greener

ATI volunteers teamed with the Harrison Tree Committee and Western Pennsylvania Conservancy Tree Vitalize program to give some love to mother nature.

ATI volunteers joined two non-profits to provide much needed care and attention to groves of trees along California and 12th Avenues in Natrona Heights. Local community leaders have worked with the Western Pennsylvania Conservancy to obtain grant money to plant more than 200 trees in our area over the last few years.

The trees require general maintenance for the first few years of growth and ATI employees have stepped up to provide the needed attention. Andrew Joseph, a manager at ATI Backenridge, speaks to the importance of being a good neighbor:

"From all over the plant, we're working together to make our community better. Volunteering as a group creates a common thread."
